2022 LEAD Rural Utah

We invite you to LEAD Rural Utah! A youth leadership development event for incoming 9th-12th grade students in rural Utah. 





EVENT DETAILS

The Utah Division of Multicultural Affairs (MCA) invites multicultural rising 9th-12th graders to LEAD (Leadership, Empowerment, and Development) Rural Utah—a virtual youth leadership event—on Tuesday, August 2, 2022.

This is a free, virtual event for students attending school in rural Utah, which includes the following counties:

  • Beaver
  • Box Elder
  • Cache
  • Carbon
  • Daggett
  • Duchesne
  • Emery
  • Garfield
  • Grand
  • Iron
  • Juab
  • Kane
  • Millard
  • Morgan
  • Piute
  • Rich
  • San Juan
  • Sanpete
  • Sevier
  • Summit
  • Tooele
  • Uintah
  • Wasatch
  • Washington
  • Wayne
Learning Incentive: The first 50 registered students will receive a $50 learning incentive from the Utah Division of Multicultural Affairs for attending the entire event. After the event, we will verify each student’s attendance. A follow-up email will be sent requesting their legal name and mailing address.

Tuesday, August 2nd, 2022 | 1:00 - 3:00 PM

VIRTUAL EXPERIENCE

The event will be held virtually over Zoom. A link will be provided to those who register. 


Registration (OPEN THROUGH AUGUST 1st)

Students, parents, community members, and educators should register by Monday, August 1st at 5 PM. As a reminder, the first 50 students that register and commit to attend the entire event will be eligible to receive a $50 learning incentive. 


REGISTER TODAY
Demographic Pre-Survey for Students: Students will be asked to complete a short, voluntary pre-survey as part of the registration. The information collected will remain confidential and will help the Utah Division of Multicultural Affairs analyze the needs and interests among multicultural students when addressing leadership development. If students choose to complete the pre-survey, they can be entered in a randomly selected prize drawing, separate from the learning incentive.
