Resilient Truths: Diverse Community Voices on COVID-19

cloayza Stories

COVID-19 has stretched us, caused us to reconsider the way we operate, and has aggravated inequities that underrepresented communities have faced for decades. The Multicultural Advisory Committee to the State of Utah COVID-19 Response, in collaboration with the Utah Division of Multicultural Affairs, invites you to join us for a series of letters from community voices that shed light on the journey of COVID-19 through Resilient Truths. These experiences though trying and difficult, need to be captured and shared so that equity speaks not only through the systems we hope to change, but also through the key players and leaders who are furthering this change.

These letters will explain the shared vision and unique perspectives of how COVID-19  has affected our underrepresented populations, but also affirm the resilient nature of how our communities have thrived in the face of adversity. If you have stories to share about your unique experience with COVID-19, please email them to Claudia Loayza at cloayza@utah.gov. Our hope is that we capture a wide range of perspectives to help us approach the future in a more informed, culturally-responsive, inclusive and compassionate manner.

We encourage you to stay tuned for letters forthcoming and share them with your communities to bring awareness to how we can combat COVID-19 together for the safety and benefit of all of us.
