2021 Multicultural Youth Leadership Summit

Multicultural Youth Leadership Summit is an event for 7th, 8th, and 9th grade students and educators.

The Utah Division of Multicultural Affairs (MCA) invites you to the 7th annual Multicultural Youth Leadership Summit. This engaging and dynamic program aims to motivate students to pursue higher education and become leaders of Utah.




EVENT DETAILS

The Utah Division of Multicultural Affairs (MCA), in partnership with Salt Lake Community College, is hosting the 2021 Multicultural Youth Leadership Summit.

A free, virtual event for 7th, 8th, and 9th grade students and educators. This year’s virtual event will focus on the theme; Reflect, Reengage, and Reignite. We will feature speakers and breakout sessions that invite youth to welcome new opportunities and envision various pathways to success.

Topics to be covered include mental health and wellness, financial empowerment—by learning how to save for your future—and exploring college and career pathways.

REGION-SPECIFIC DAYS:

Day 1: January 26th, 2021 (Northern Region)

Day 2: January 28th, 2021 (Wasatch Front-Northern Region)

Day 3: February 2nd, 2021 (Central-Southern Region, & Granite School District) ***Granite School District is assigned this day due to meeting capacity concerns.

Day 4: February 4th, 2021 (Wasatch Front-Southern Region)

STEP 1. APPLY
  • Applications for the Summit will remain open until filled. Please apply early as the event fills up quickly. Our staff will review each application and allot the number of available student tickets for your school during the first week of January .We encourage you to apply at: https://forms.gle/1fUQ1w3YinnBkgGH9
Step 2. REGISTER
  • Educators that complete an application will be contacted with detailed registration information after the first week of January based on availability and equitable distribution. Contact youthleadership@utah.gov if concerns or questions arise.
Step 3. ATTEND
  • After completing registration, educators will be provided with instructions on how to attend the Multicultural Youth Leadership Summit virtually. We ask that you communicate these instructions to students and other educators from your school who have registered to attend.
