One of Utah’s Longest Running Festivals

As one of the longest running festivals in the state, the Utah Asian Festival has been a must-go-to event since 1978. This annual festival takes place in the summer.

Whether you’re part of the Asian community or want to learn more about the unique cultures that make up Asia, there is a bit of everything for everyone. According to U.S. Census data, the fastest-growing population in Utah are the state’s Asian communities.

One of the highlights of the Utah Asian Festival is the food. The festival offers a mouthwatering array of Asian cuisine. Whether you’re craving the bold flavors of Thai street food or the delicate textures of Japanese sushi, there’s something to satisfy every palate that blends together the beauty of culture and food!

Beyond the food, other highlights include cultural performances including dances, traditional music, and martial arts. For example, the Khmera Dance Troupe presents a mesmerizing art form steeped in precise movements that evoke centuries of Khmer (Cambodian) tradition. With graceful movements rooted in symbolism, dancers elegantly glide across the stage with intricate hand gestures and body movements.

The Utah Asian Festival celebrates beautiful Asian cultures and traditions, but also connects and welcomes new Americans, immigrants, and refugees with the greater Utah community. Each annual rendition of the festival contributes to Utah’s growing and thriving story.
