Celtic Charms and Highland Hues

The annual Utah Scottish Festival & Highland Games celebrates Scottish culture, and festival-goers will hear the sound of bagpipes vibrating in the air and see plenty of traditional tartan kilts. The weekend festival in June, traditionally held at the Utah State Fairpark, features the Highland Games competition, spotlighting amateur and professional athletes in sheaf and caber tossing, hammer throwing, stone putting and other events.

The Scottish Festival also features music and dance showcases, with pipe bands, drummers, and dancers performing the Highland Fling and other dances. Vendors offer traditional dishes such as haggis, Scotch eggs, and shortbread, as well as Scottish-themed merchandise and crafts. All of the activities create a sense of community for festival-goers to celebrate Scottish roots.
