For more than a decade, the Utah Filipino Festival has brought together communities from all over the state in a joyful celebration of culture, heritage, and connection. Since its founding in 2014, this grassroots, community-powered festival has grown into one of Utah’s most beloved cultural celebrations—highlighting roots and tradition. This heart-filled event invites all Utahns—whether you grew up with Filipino traditions or are eager to learn more—to come together and experience the vibrancy of the Philippines right here in Utah.

At its core, Filfest UT is a grassroots celebration, lovingly organized by a network of Filipino and Filipino-American volunteers. These passionate individuals are committed to preserving the rich traditions of the Philippines and encouraging younger generations to reconnect with their roots to ensure that the beauty and pride of Filipino culture continues to thrive for years to come.

The festival offers an immersive cultural experience for everyone:

✨ A Showcase of Performances

  • Get ready for an unforgettable lineup of cultural and contemporary entertainment! Enjoy traditional Filipino dances, live music from local bands, solo vocalists, a children’s fashion show, and even a crowd-favorite singing contest.

🍽️ A Taste of the Philippines

  • From mouthwatering lumpia to sizzling BBQ, Filfest features a variety of authentic Filipino and non-Filipino foods served by local vendors and food trucks. Water, soda, and traditional snacks will be available, making it a flavorful experience for the whole family.

🎉 Interactive Activities for All Ages

  • Bring a picnic blanket and explore the festival grounds! Participate in games for all age groups, visit cultural and educational booths, snap photos at colorful photobooths, and try your luck with raffles and giveaways. Little ones can enjoy the nearby playground while others unwind in the park’s serene outdoor space.

  • Shop handcrafted accessories, printed shirts, cultural attire like the Barong Tagalog and Filipiniana, and other unique items that highlight the creativity and traditions of the Filipino community.

A Celebration of Freedom and Legacy

Every year’s festival honors the anniversary of Philippine independence. Through music, dance, and meaningful community engagement, Filfest invites all to join in remembering and rejoicing in the legacy of the Filipino people.

Each year, Filfest UT is made possible through the collaborative efforts of six Filipino-American organizations, who rotate hosting responsibilities. This unique model ensures fresh energy, new ideas, and an ever-evolving festival experience that continues to grow and shine.
