Multicultural Youth Leadership Summit

The Multicultural Youth Leadership Summit is an annual event for 7th, 8th, and 9th grade students and educators. This engaging and dynamic program aims to motivate students to become leaders of Utah.

Our virtual experience empowers youth across the state to learn about their passions, foundations for financial well-being, and explore college and career pathways.

Our 2024 Multicultural Youth Leadership Summit "Empowering the Leader Within" will be held on November 7 and November 14 from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The same programming will be available on different days to provide greater options for educators.

This annual program aims to motivate students to explore college and career pathways, financial empowerment, mental wellness, and leadership development. Students will have an opportunity to engage with community leaders and win captivating prizes. 



Vertical Video challenge 

SUBMIT YOUR VIDEO HERE >

Are your 7th, 8th, and 9th grade students ready to show off their leadership skills and creativity? Students can enter our "Empowering the Leader Within" Vertical Video Challenge a chance to win a grand prize and have their video featured during the Summit. 

Record a one-minute vertical video answering one of the following prompts. 

 “I am a leader because I serve my community through…”
or
“I want to grow as a leader who values mental health by…”
or
“I am inspired to become a [profession] because…”

Students will then write 2 short paragraphs explaining the direction behind your video and submit it for a chance to win!

Overview of Event


The Multicultural Youth Leadership Summit is an annual event for 7th, 8th and 9th grade students and educators. This engaging and dynamic program aims to motivate students to pursue higher education and become leaders of Utah.

The Utah Division of Multicultural Affairs hosted the first Multicultural Youth Leadership Summit on April 30, 2013 at the Davis Conference Center. We have since hosted Summits at Weber State University, Calvin L. Rampton Salt Palace Convention Center, Mountain America Exposition Center, and Salt Lake Community College -Redwood Campus.
